PHILIPSBURG — Philipsburg Heritage Days was held July 8 to July 11 in Downtown Philipsburg. This year, the committee chose “Let Freedom Ring — 250th Anniversary” as this year’s theme.
A quilt unveiling was held on opening night on Wednesday. Additional events included CenClear Kids Zone, the annual Watermelon Eating Contest and entertainment from Down to the Wire at the Lee Industries Sound Stage.
Thursday entertainment included Charlie the Jester at the CenClear Kids Zone, an art show Holt Memorial Library and stage entertainment from popular band The Moore Brothers.
Kids Zone activities continued Friday along with the art show at Holt Memorial Library and a performance by Hair Force One on the stage.
The Grand Parade was held on Saturday at noon. Following the parade, a Drum & Bugle Corps presentation was held on Front Street by Philipsburg Towers. Stephanie & the Wild Hearts provided music on the sound stage. A lighted foam party was held at 8 p.m. followed by a fireworks show.

- Best Float Representing Philipsburg – Trinity United Methodist Church
- Best Ambulance – Mountain Top Ambulance of Sandy Ridge
- Best Brush Truck – Mountain Top Vol. Fire Co. of Sandy Ridge
